Linda Ivey, MHS

In more than twenty-seven years of service to the District Government and thirteen years in private industry, Linda Ivey has acquired experience in community, media, and public relations, conference coordination; human resource management, volunteer administration, fundraising, and grantsmanship. In 1995 she became the first full-time grant writer in the history of the District Government and assisted in the development of a foundation for the city’s public hospital that successfully raised more than $40 million in federal and private grant funds. She was appointed to serve as Project Manager in the City Administrator’s Center for Innovation and Reform in Mayor Anthony Williams’ administration --- a pioneering effort to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of government operations. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Isabelle and Katrina she was assigned to the DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency to serve on the city’s Disaster Recovery Team. Today she continues in this role optimizing Federal grants to individuals and city agencies.
Her public service career includes appointments as a Resource Development Specialist for the DC Department of Human Services; Associate Director of Grant Management, Director of Community Relations, Employee Relations Specialist and Employee Development Specialist for D. C. General Hospital and her legendary service as a Leader of the D.C. Women’s Program.  For creating workshops, conferences, Child Care Centers, Upward Mobility and Scholarship Programs, Internships, Work-Site College Courses, and Non-traditional Employment Opportunities. She received numerous Awards to include the District Government’s highest civic honor, The Meritorious Public Service Award; The Hagans “Supervisor of the Year” Award; the DCGH Woman of the Year Award and the D.C. “Outstanding Women’s Program Manager of the Year” Award. 
In 1995, Linda foundedThe Ivey League to further pursue her passion to help persons in need. Her company offers grant writing services and project development assistance to nonprofits on a single project or retainer basis. As a Christian, her company’s motto is “God has chosen tee to be a special people unto himself.” (Deut. 7:6) It’s mission is to not only feed God’s sheep but to empower God’s sheep to feed others. To this end, she applies and teaches the secrets of the grant world to others who have a calling to help the least of these in our society.
Linda has a BBA in Business Administration from George Washington University, and an MHS in Human Services from Lincoln University.  She joined Ebenezer AME in Ft. Washington, MD in 1981, Galilee AME in Washington, DC in 2006 and enrolled in the Evangel Cathedral Bible School in Upper Marlboro, MD in 2007.
